October 2014 page 10 ICD-10: Table of Drugs and Chemicals Introduction The Table of Drugs and Chemicals (Table) in the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Edition, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) classifies drugs and other chemical substances to identify the substance taken, as well as the intent of poisoning, adverse effects, toxic effects, and underdosing. The Table consists of codes in categories T36-T65, which are combination codes. In the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Edition, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM), poisoning was described with columns of E-codes to detail the intent; however, in ICD-10-CM, poisoning and external causes-intent codes have been combined.
