Can these closures be coded to the 12001-12021 series for simple repair? AMA Comment Currently, CPT does not have a specific code to report closure by these methods. Therefore, you would use the unlisted procedure code, 17999, Unlisted procedure, skin, mucous membrane and subcutaneous tissue.
