There was no mention of diabetes. Three 23G trocar cannulas were introduced 3.5 mm posterior to the limbus for a standard vitrectomy. The core vitrectomy was carried out with a microvitrector. Tractional elements were removed, and the scleral depression revealed no peripheral tears.
